New incentive rates for the SOMAH 2021-2022 funding year are now available. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) released its annual solar cost benchmark report, and after analysis by the SOMAH PA, a 2% step-down in incentive rates was determined based on the declining cost of residential solar installations. This new rate goes into effect starting October 30, 2021 through June 30, 2022. In this informational webinar, the SOMAH program administrator will explain the NREL analysis and discuss the impact of the incentive step-down with stakeholders. 

The annual incentive step-down is required by Decision 17-12-022, which states SOMAH’s incentive levels will decrease by industry rates reported in the annual NREL report or 5%, whichever is less.
